Revolution Regained

To cause ANY kind of revolution nowadays, you must NOT follow the trends of other revolutions! That’s the most important thing to remember! To commit any kind of takeover in today’s society (where even the humble garbo knows what’s right and wrong) you have to disregard any kind of revolution you’ve seen before. As Lenin did, we must learn from both our enemies and the past but BE DIFFERENT. Here are some rules for future revolutions:

- Be subtle: Jumping onto a box and shouting out your ideology's may seem to be the way to go in this media based society, but we must learn that THIS WILL NEVER WORK. Revolutions of the future wont be swashbuckling adventures like the Russian or French Revolution, they will be controlled and calculated take-over’s of government.

- Power does NOT belong to the workers: They no longer have power, with machines taking over every facet of industry now. There’s no need to gain there support, or make any special concessions for them (except MAYBE to make up voting numbers). Quite frankly, the rest of the populus won’t rally to your cause if you side with workers, you look like a Socialist.

- Work the YOUNG Bourgeoisie: The future lies in the youth of the world; if you can take uni students away from their left-wing unions, or even grab the newly graduated; then you can control the next generation. I will get to HOW later on…

- Never use military force: Military might have been the way to go back in the old times, but use of military force nowadays will immediately get you on the wrong side of the media, and will lose you any chance of revolution. It’s like a fight at a boys school; the first one to throw the punch is the one who loses and gets bagged.

e – i + m – b[y] + w
----------------------------- = fr
f + ed

fr = failed revolution
e= extraverted behaviour
i = ideology
m = military force
b = power base
y = young bourgeoisie
w = belief in workers
f = factionalism
ed = ‘excessive’ democracy

But who are we fighting? What’s the revolution against? Not against the government; I feel that’s fine as it is. Democratic capitalism is the bomb; I don’t want to mess with that. If I did want to change something politically, it would probably be to change from a single president/prime minister to a more oligarchic society; where an elite group rules. While that’s the ideal, it wouldn’t work; an elite group is destined to fail because there will always be factionalism due to disagreements in the group, and because a properly elite group can’t be chosen through democracy, I’d have to resort to dictatorship (which defeats the purpose)

The revolution will be against the media. The one thing hindering society, the one thing that has all the power, the one thing that is not controlled in our society; it must be stopped. The only way to destroy the media (which is faceless) is to gain power, and crush freedom of speech for a short while. This will be the terror phase of the revolution. Like the revolutions of old, a terror is necessary. All forms of communication must be shut down (not art forms, because they must spread the propaganda) for a little while, and then restarted under strict dictatorship. This act of ‘rebooting’ the system should shut down the basic terror hold that media has had.

Actually, when I say all forms of communication must be shut down, I lie. The internet must not be shut down. Because (and I hate to sound like a socialist) but it’s the true voice of the people. Its what is right, it’s the only thing the media doesn't control, because the internet is also uncontrollable. I mean, it’s the perfect communist society, the internet. Everyone has their say, everyone is basically equal (as equal as you can get, pragmatically) and this is good, and very needed. THIS IS BECAUSE THE PROPAGANDA LEADING TO THE REVOLUTION MUST BE BROADCAST OVER THE INTERNET. It’s the only medium not controlled by the media, and it will lead to its downfall.

Lol, and now you all think im a crazy man. I don’t condone what I wrote; im just saying it could work. Im not saying try it, im not saying to attribute it to me, im just thinking aloud. If anyone has ideas that I haven’t thought of, post em because I’d really like to have some food for thought on this issue.

Well, hypothetically...

If everyone in the world went to sleep at the same time, nobody would ever wake up. Because for that split second that every person fell asleep, the world would no longer exist.

How can the world exist if there is nobody to prove it does?

Scientology Shmientolgy

Check out http://www.scientology.org/en_US/religion/index.html and have a read. After you finish a section, you can read a Tom commentary on the wondrous religion that is Scientology (created by our friend Mr L. Ron Hubbard who’s probably sleeping on a pile of money and ripped up religious texts/civil liberty bills with many beautiful women)

Introduction to Scientology
The opening line, saying Scientology is the “study of truth” straight away gives a sense of the sin of pride having already been committed (for you Scientologists, who love results, it took me 2.3 seconds before I realised it was the wrong religion for me, thanks…). An important line to remember in here is “[Man’s] capabilities are unlimited, even if not presently realised “ because it gets nicely contradicted later on.

Parts of Man
I love the line “the body is not a person”, it’s the kind of thing somebody says when they’re getting angry trying to make you believe something. This is where we’re introduced to the idea of Scientology’s maxim of “SURVIVE”. Then they go through the levels of WANTING TO SURVIVE. It’s a fair call having God at the top, then the ‘spirits’ (its true, what have they got to SURVIVE for? They don’t live). It makes sense all the way down to the first dynamic, Individual Man! So Scientologists believe that its more important for the individual to survive then the family? Or Mankind? That’s not exactly very user friendly now, is it? I’ve gotta newsflash for you guys, Mankind as a race tries to survive the most out of ANYTHING. Say there's a bomb on a train and there’s a RAMPAGE for the exit; but have a mugger approach an individual in an alley and we see the man freeze up. True survival tactics are seen when groups are under fire, not individuals…just look at revolutions, foo’!

ARC Triangle and Tone Scale
I thought the aim of Scientology was ‘SURVIVE’, not ‘understanding’? Or wasn’t it the ‘search for truth’? Anyway, while they work out what they want, let’s look deeper. The Tone Scale measures your current feelings and decides how much more Scientology lovin’ you need. Well with only 9 of the 41 tones being GOOD, then anyone using this scale has a REALLY high chance of running quickly over to the nearest Scientology donation box and helping ‘L. Ron Hubbard’ pay for his new boat.

The Answer to Drugs
I’ve got to agree with them on this one (except I would advise Mr Hubbard not to use the phrase ‘Purification Rundown’ because it, God forbid, makes you sound like some sort of cult)

Auditing and the E-Meter
Don’t you love how they keep trying to tell you the Latin origin of words so the phrases they use don’t sound as confrontational?

Man 1: OH MY GOD, THEY SAID THEY WANT TO GIVE ME AN “AUDITING SESSION”!!!!
Man 2: Its ok! ‘Auditing’ comes from the Latin word meaning ‘to listen’!
Man 1: Oh, well that’s ok then! What’s that, Mr Scientologist? You want me to go in that room? Doesn't it say "Lobotomy Room"?...oh! You say it’s MEANT to say “Auditing Session Room”, of course!

And the little E-Reader they have? If anyone’s seen Napoleon Dynamite, then they’ll understand why I think of the time-machine when I look at that E-Reader…Oh yeah, and do you know how much this 'spiritual enlightnement' costs? $365,000 - $380,000. Per session. L. Ron Hubbard just put a down-payment on his new house...http://xenu.net/archive/prices.html

States of Existence
Love the opening line, “Man is so visibly MAN!” it reminds me of myself when I can’t find words to describe what I’m saying. And the little mention of Buddah to show they’re ‘tolerant of other religions’? I laughed. Lets have a look at these sub-sections:

-Communication: I hate the idea of artists being a ‘cut above man’ because of what they do. Art is not the ‘true communication’, it is just a different form of communication.

-Problems: “When a being can make problems vanish with a glance he is no longer a man” you bloody right he’s not, he’s a fucking robot.

-Freedom: You say Man (notice the capital ‘M’? How audacious of them) is truly free when he has no memory of past trouble? Mmmm, so you want to get rid of bad memories so nobody thinks “hey, things used to be different”? Sounds a bit Orwellian/totalitarian to me…

-Ability: *cough Oligarchy cough*

-Power: The magician is truly powerful because he distracts with one hand while pulling rabbits with the other…
-Clear: “Proof that man is basically good”?! *points to door* get out of my house now please.
-Operating Thetan: Sounds like the Force to me…

What is Diatenics?
Oh my God, what a laugh those statistics were. I wonder what instrument they used to measure somebodies ‘happiness level’? Or their place on the ‘depression scale’? Oh, did they just ask them? Was that before or after the ‘auditing session’?

How the Mind Works
It’s all so clear to me now! To be happy, I start listening to my analytical mind rather then my natural impulses! That’s convenient, because my natural impulses are saying “RUN TOM OH MY GOD IT’S A CULT AND THEY WANT YOUR BRAIN AND THEY WANT TO CONSUME IT AND TAKE AWAY YOUR FREEDOM/MONEY AND MAKE YOU ANOTHER FACTS PERSON THERE WILL BE NOTHING BEAUTIFUL LEFT IN THE WORLD AND THE BALANCE OF LIFE WILL BE OVERTHROWN” and if I listened to that I wouldn’t become graced by Scientology!

The Clear
Just look at the girl in the picture. I bet you if you looked at the other side of her head you'd see the scars where they removed her brain. Enough said.

The Book that Started it All
Plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug plug.

Aims of Scientology
You may as well look up 'contadiction' in the dictionary for THIS section. They think world peace is possible technologically, but they're non-political. They want to "elevate society" but they want no revolution. They offer help, but say to be suspicious of offers of help. (One last note, Hubbard! Remember when i said that you MAYBE POSSIBLY JUST A TEENSY-WEENCY LITTLE BIT sound like a cult? Well saying the 'sun never sets on Scientology' might just ruin that image...lucky im not listening to my natural impulses!)

Conclusion
If this got any more like a pyramid scheme, Mr L. Ron Hubbard, the British Museum would corner you off and declare you a national treasure. I think I’ll stick to my Christianity; if I wanted my civil liberties and individuality taken away, I’d go join the Communist Party. Thanks anyway.

The Ecclesiastical Manifesto

Since 313, Catholicism has been a mighty force when it’s come to religion, the most popular strain of the most popular religion. Of course, this didn’t just happen – to survive, Catholicism needs two main things:

- Bad conditions are not only a necessity in Catholicism, but in ALL religion. Nothing strengthens a religion more then poor living/social standards. When there is nothing in this life for a group in society to look forward to, religion’s promises of a better ‘afterlife’ are the ‘carrot dangling in front of the horse’ to these people. Its very evident in the breakout of terrorism; bad conditions in the Muslim countries have risen to points where religious extremism has broken out.
One HUGE part of this necessity is education; poor education leads to more religion, but we’ll get to that later…

- Another thing the church needs is the general consensus that the church has all the answers. All throughout the ages, the clergy have been seen as wise sages; knowing a multitude of answers and their divine knowledge can help us in all our problems. In literature, the priest is always seen as the person people go too when they need information or help; “SANCTUARY!!!”

This is the exact reason why the church is having trouble adjusting nowadays to western society. To be perfectly frank; there are no longer bad conditions in modern western society. We all live with enough food, have access to jobs and education, and have live a cultured lifestyle.

And that brings me to the subject of education. It’s interesting to see how the church has reacted to religion. Back in the olden days, children were educated poorly (if at all). This would have consisted of VERY basic maths and reading/writing but mostly RELIGION. The church controlled the children, and therefore had perfect control of them as adults. But with the emergence of science as an education to the populace in the 20th century, the church had nowhere to go. There are catholic teaching institutions, of course, but this does nothing to shake children of today to shake their belief of science over religion (which leads me to my next point…)

The church no longer has all the answers. Science has overtaken science as the belief of Western culture. Physics and chemistry have replaced philosophy and theology. The problem with that is that science (when you take things at face value) seems to cancel out the basic stories of Catholicism. This lost the belief in the clergy being the brings of truth.

They are no longer holier-then-thou perfect beings with divine knowledge. The media has taken take of that. Nothing says ‘distrust me’ more then child-sex allegations…enough said.

So what can the church do? Most obviously, get rid of their conservative views and get some reform action to the beat of something like this…

- Marriage for priests will get rid of any of excuse for child-sex allegations and definitely set the church back on the road to being perfectly trusted again (as well as being HUMANE to the priests).

- Women priests will not only keep the filthy feminists happy ;) but also be a perfect symbol for change in the church. Such a massive step will put faith back in the church's ability to change

- The most important one for me is view of Jesus. I cant stress enough how important it is for the image to CHANGE. Luckily, this is one that the church is acting upon at least a little…

The image of Christ has always been one of a holy being, seated at the right-hand of the Father. The epitome of goodness, the SON OF GOD! What the church NEEDS to be pushing is the idea of the AVERAGE MAN that is also hinted at in the bible. Jesus was just another guy; working-class even! I mean; what better way to catch the imagination of the people! It’s romantic! A boy from the rough part of town, working as a tradie, growing up to become loved by all (and most importantly, getting his message out to all). This is why the image of Christ and Mary Magdalene as a couple really gets people! Its what a regular guy would do! He’d go her! This IS starting to happen though, what with the ‘Passion of the Christ’ and I heard a reading today involving Mary as a mother around the kitchen with an apron on (bringing the stories back home to the 21st century)

If the church doesn't adapt, it will die. One of two things will happen from here: either the new generation of priests will understand the need for change and point the church in the right direction, or we will have another round of head-shaking conservatives that will slowly drown the church (and religious belief in society altogether)

Thank you and goodnight *passes out*
